PINKO REIMAGINE
PINKO x PATRICK MCDOWELL | SS24
Patrick McDowell, Sustainable British Fashion Designer, unveils their latest collection in partnership with PINKO, emphasising the message of diversity and inclusion in fashion.
The new collection REIMAGINE PINKO x PATRICK MCDOWELL celebrates the rich diversity of dance in all its forms. Named City Dancer, it thoughtfully embraces variations in size and gender identity, crafting a collection that is welcoming and inclusive for all. City Dancer explores all of the elements of being a dancer today, in the city Hustling to get by.
Patrick McDowell, Creative Director and Founder of Patrick McDowell said: “This collection marks several firsts for us: the debut of the first plus-size model and the first male model in a PINKO campaign, showcasing our commitment to diversity and inclusion. I want to present a broader perspective with this collection, which is not just about using eco-friendly materials but also about embracing the people who are passionate about and deeply immersed in the world of fashion. This represents the holistic approach to sustainability that I am focusing on.”
This collection highlights Sustainability Design Director Patrick McDowell's commitment to diversity and holistic sustainability. Patrick reflects this through the inclusion of varying styles, the first plus-size and male models in Pinko’s campaigns, along with the selection of sustainable materials and the production of limited quantities.

The campaign video for the collection chronicles the journey of PINKO's creative director, from her early days as a child dancer to collaborating with Patrick in creating this collection. The campaign features dancers of all sizes, genders, and diverse dancing styles, showcasing its strong ties to the collection's overarching message. As always Patrick approaches their collections from a deeply personal family narrative and deep dived into Caterina’s history to create these pieces.
Caterina Negra, Creative Director of PINKO said: "Working with Patrick is always a very intense and real experience. We like to think that through fashion we generate emotion spontaneously. It’s all so natural... so real. The reality is, is that we are different from each other, each with our own characteristics, and we are all free in the same way to wear what makes us feel ourselves, which, above all, makes us feel good. It’s all we must be, always and everywhere: just ourselves!"
Leveraging McDowell’s distinctive sustainable approach, Patrick assembles and merges vintage materials breathing new life into warehouse finds alongwith certified recycled and sustainable materials. This reinvention features bomber jackets adorned with printed pink bows, transparent tops, and asymmetrically designed black jackets accented with pink ribbons, among others. The outcome is a collection embodying both a youthful charm and refined sophistication.
The collection's signature element is the recurring bow print motif, a nod to the elegance of ballet, one of the most classical and artistic forms of dance in human history. This motif adorns both feminine sheer bodysuit and structured bomber jackets, blurring the lines between genders and identities. The motif is also associated with the balletcore trend emerging among Gen Z, showcasing the collection's intrinsic connection with the youth.
